Joan Alva Huff, 92, of Marquette, died peacefully Thursday, April 7, 2022, at her home.

She was born March 25, 1930, in Marquette, a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian (Dupras) Richer. She was a 1948 graduate of Bishop Baraga High School and was a lifelong area resident.

Joan was employed in the accounting & finance department at the City of Marquette for 15 years until her retirement in March of 1986.

She married George C. Huff on July 20, 1973 at the First United Methodist Church in Marquette and the couple enjoyed 48 years of marriage.

Joan is survived by two children, Karen (Greg) Hafner of Kansas City, KS and John (Debbie) Meyers of Russellville, AR; five grandchildren, John Warren Bailey, Jessica (Ben) Kloosterman, Brooke Meyers, Austin Meyers, Jonathan (Josie) Meyers, two great grandchildren Weston Kloosterman and Bailey Kloosterman; siblings, Gloria Jean (Charles) Fassbender of Poway, CA; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Patricia Meyers Bailey and siblings Mary Peterson, Donna Mae Bianchetti, and Donald Richer of Mesa, AZ.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Peggy and Roy Ansbury for providing invaluable assistance to both Gorge and Joan over the past several years.

A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date in Park Cemetery.
