VIENNA M. OLSON-FINGER

December 29, 1919 - December 10, 2021

Obituary

Vienna M. Olson-Finger, of Marquette, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living.

Vienna would have been 102 on December 29th.

She was born in Diorite, Michigan and grew up in Palmer, graduating from the Palmer High School. After graduation, Vienna and her friend, Helga went to Chicago, IL for business training and moved to Detroit when that training was completed.

Vienna met and married her first husband, Charles T. Olson, Jr. in Detroit. They purchased a home on the east side of Detroit and raised their daughter there. Charles passed away in 1971. Vienna married her second husband, Leroy Finger in 1978. He preceded her in death in 1979. She worked at multiple offices during her career as a bookkeeper and office manager. She retired in 1985 and moved back to Palmer.

She maintained an immaculate yard and gardens during her lifetime, being particularly fussy about how her yard was manicured and hating when the leaves kept falling in her yard. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles and in her earlier years, pinochle.

Vienna was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and was actively involved in Women's Activities until her health did not allow it.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (David) Stahmann of Little Lake; grandchildren, Daniel Atkins of Marquette, Jeannine (Peter Martinac) Kangas of Negaunee, Matthew (Andrea) Atkins of Madison, WI and Megan (Joshua) Gilbert of South Dakota; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Kurtis, Cooper, Everleigh, Zander, Emerson, JJ, Bentley, Hollynn, Sophie, Suzie and Margot; several nieces and their husbands, great-nephews, great-niece and two great-great nephews; two step-daughters; a step-granddaughter; and several step-great-grandchildren; and her faithful kitty, Solomon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Maria Aho; husbands; two brothers, Charles and Leimo Aho; sisters, Lila Ollila and Irene Erickson; and a niece, Susan Mandarano.

Vienna's family would like to thank the staff of Brookridge Heights Assisted Living for the wonderful care and concern they provided to Vienna while she was a resident there.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring or Summer of 2022 and will be announced by Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Brookridge Heights Assisted Living, UPAWS or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
