Obituary
Clifford R. "C.R." Dagenais, 84, of Marquette, died Saturday morning, March 13, 2021, while wintering in Meadview, Arizona.
Ron was born on July 30, 1936 in Marquette to the late Clifford H. and Viola (Sims) Dagenais and had been a lifelong Marquette resident. He attended St. John's Catholic School and on September 13, 1954, Ron married the former Veronica Johnson in Marquette.
He was formerly employed for 35 years with Aramark. He also formerly served his country with the U.S. Army National Guard.
In his free time, Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp, playing Cribbage and socializing with his many friends. He was a member of American Legion Post #44 as well as Marquette Elks Lodge #405 in Marquette.
Survivors include five children, Stephen (Lucy) Dagenais, Marcia (Dan) DeFant and Debra Nyberg, all of Marquette, Michael (Sandra) Dagenais of Gwinn and Wayne (Sandy) Dagenais of Marquette; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty L'Huillier of Marquette, Carol (Gary) Schmeltzer of Gwinn and Marilyn Hult (Bob Trewhella) of Marquette. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ron in death besides his parents was his wife, Veronica on December 22, 2019; a grandson, Alan Nyberg and brother, Neil Dagenais.
Visitation for family members and close friends will take place on Friday, March 19th from 2-4 p.m. at Canale-Tonella Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 30th at 2 p.m. in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette.
Memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Mr. Dagenais' memory.
