Jeanette ''Jean'' Farrell

Jeanette Jean (Moreau) Farrell, 87, of 130 East Kaye Avenue died Sunday February 3, 2002 at the Norlite Nursing Center where she had resided
since February 1998.
Born December 14, 1914 in Escanaba to the late Albert and Ada (Roberge) Moreau she was raised in Escanaba, graduating from St. Joseph High School.
On May 24, 1937 she married Joseph T. Farrell in Escanaba and the couple moved to Marquette where they worked and raised their family.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society in Marquette where she was organist and choir director for 43 years(1947-1990). Prior to that time she was organist and choir director at the former St. Johns Catholic Church in Marquette.
In her spare time, Jean also gave piano lessons and enjoyed all aspects of music and especially loved sharing her musical gift with family and friends.
She was a very good cook and enjoyed preparing her favorite recipes for her family and friends.
A loving mother and grandmother she is survived by two sons: James (Sharon) Farrell, Orlando, FL,; Jerry (Kathy) Farrell, Marquette; five grandchildren: Scott (Cindy) Farrell, Cumming, GA,; Michelle (John) Ames, Orlando, FL; Laurie, Michael and AnnMarie Farrell, Marquette; five great grandchildren: Kaitlin, Steven and Jessica Farrell, Cumming, GA; Alexander and Nicole Ames, Orlando, FL; one sister, Doris Dye, Escanaba and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by Joseph, her husband of 60 years, in September, 1997; her daughter-in-law Louise, 1996; four brothers: Ernest, Leonard, Victor and Robert Moreau; three sisters: Cecile Zarse, Helen Douglas and Lillian Barggren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Thursday in St. Michael Catholic Church in Marquette with the Rev. Msgr. Jed Patrick and the Rev. Shaun Erno concelebrants. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the mass at the church. Entombment will take place in the Holy Cross Mausoleum. Escorts will be members of her family.
