Obituary

Gary L. Anderson, 62, of 1540 W. Ridge Street, Marquette, died Sunday morning, April 8, 2001 at his home.

Mr. Anderson was born February 28, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late Lloyd and Eleanor (Stenehjen) Anderson. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in psychology. On August 1, 1959, he married the former Beverly Ann Rein.

Gary was employed for 28 years as the local representative for the Josten Company serving many local high schools and universities. He was a long time member of the Marquette Golf and Country Club, the Golden Wildcat Club, NMUs Presidents Club and was an ardent supporter of Northern Michigan University athletics.

Gary will be remembered for his insatiable love of family, friends, golf and life.

Survivors include one son, Patrick A. Anderson of East Lansing, MI; three daughters, Kris (Jim) McMahon of St. Paul, MN, Lisa (Robert) ONeill and Leslie (Jeff) Pieper, both of Marquette; four grandchildren, Saundra and Katy ONeill, Megan McMahon and Andrew Pieper; one sister, Denise (Jeff) Apperson of Durango, CO; also two nephews. Preceding him in death besides his parents was his wife, Beverly Bev Anderson on April 23, 1995.

Friends may call at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday. A time of remembrance will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Nancy Amacher of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating.
