Obituary for SHARON MAE LEE

Sharon Mae Lee, 75, of Negaunee, died peacefully Thursday afternoon, May 17, 2018 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.

Sharon was born on December 10, 1942 in Grand Rapids, MN to the late Ervin and Betty (Nielsen) Grinde. She was raised by her step-father, Herman Suemnick. Sharon graduated from Grand Rapids High School in Minnesota.

Sharon had a very strong faith in God teaching Sunday school and youth group at Bethany Lutheran Church in Negaunee. She enjoyed playing the piano, which she was very accomplished at and gave piano lessons as well. She enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, baking, blueberry picking and was a voracious reader. Often times she would read a book a day.

Sharon is survived by her husband, William Lee of Negaunee; children, Daniel (Mary) Rodeck of Grand Ledge, MI, Debbie (Charlie VanBeynen) Hatcher of Negaunee, Billy Lee of Negaunee and Michael (Tracy) Lee of Dewitt, MI; grandchildren, Emily Rodeck, Elizabeth Rodeck, Henry Lee and Jordan Lee; brother, Michael (Linda) Grinde of Grand Rapids, MN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Richard Rodeck and son-in-law, Josh Hatcher. Her beloved cat, Thunderfoot, joined her in eternal life on the same day.

Per Sharon’s request no services will be held. One of her last wishes was that her friends remember her in a prayer or a fun time that was shared together. Sharon’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, especially Kris and Freckles.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to UPAWS, PO Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855.
