Obituary for ANN K. DAVIS

Ann Davis, 81, of Marquette, died peacefully Sunday evening, October 22, 2017 at her home in the presence of her loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.

Ann was born on March 28, 1936 in Marquette, a daughter of William and Corrine (Jacques) Clulo. She began studies toward a nursing degree at Mount Carmel Academy in Detroit and later returned to Marquette where she completed her studies at NMU, receiving an LPN degree. She also delivered the commencement address on behalf of her graduating class.

Ann was an avid gardener, plant expert, bird watcher, and reader. She enjoyed both hiking and snowshoeing. Living in the Keweenaw Peninsula some years ago, Ann formerly served as the mayor of Herman.

Survivors include five children, Michael T. Doyle of Slidell, LA, Katherine M. Doyle-Dudley of Marquette, Laura A. Doyle, Elizabeth (Craig McKinnon) Doyle and Peter J. (Mary Sullivan) Doyle, all of Seattle, WA; two step-daughters, Kay (Jim) Campioni of Chassell, MI and Ginny (Ken) Yuska of Madison, WI; four grandchildren, Ryan J. Moore, Evan Doyle, Thomas Doyle and Kate Doyle; two step grandchildren, Theresa Campioni and Jim Campioni; one brother, Paul (Carol) Clulo of Frankfort, MI; also several nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James Doyle, second husband, Walter Davis and a sister, Mary Sheperd.

A celebration of Ann’s life will take place next summer in Marquette.
